Our Founder
The story of Crop Chop begins with our founder, Yanna, a long-time advocate and experienced professional in the cannabis industry.
Yanna’s journey into cannabis began early. In 2008, at the age of 18, she attended Liberation Day in Michigan, where she was inspired by the work of John Sinclair and other leaders who helped shape the modern cannabis movement.
In 2009, Yanna began assisting friends and family during harvest seasons, gaining firsthand insight into the nature of post-harvest cannabis work. This early exposure gave her a deep understanding of the specialized skills required in the industry and the challenges cultivations face when scaling operations during peak harvest periods.
She later transitioned into the retail side of the cannabis industry, where she worked closely with patients and consumers, developing a strong understanding of cannabinoids, product quality, and the evolving cannabis marketplace.
Recognizing the growing need for experienced cannabis professionals available on demand, Yanna founded Crop Chop to help cultivations connect with skilled contractors who already possess the specialized knowledge required for cannabis post-harvest assignments.
Expertise and Innovation
With years of experience in the cannabis industry, Yanna has developed a strong understanding of post-harvest workflows and the operational needs of large-scale cultivations.
Crop Chop works closely with licensed cultivations to help them access experienced cannabis professionals who are familiar with industry best practices and production environments. By coordinating a network of knowledgeable contractors, Crop Chop helps cultivations manage fluctuating labor needs while maintaining operational efficiency.
Yanna remains deeply engaged in the evolving cannabis landscape, keeping pace with advancements in cultivation techniques, genetics, and post-harvest processing methods. This insight helps Crop Chop better understand the needs of cultivations and connect them with professionals who have relevant experience within the industry.
The Crop Chop Difference
Over the years, Yanna has built a strong network of cannabis professionals and industry relationships across Michigan. Crop Chop serves as a trusted coordination partner for cultivations seeking access to experienced cannabis workforce support.
By helping connect cultivations with skilled independent professionals when additional help is needed, Crop Chop provides cultivations with the flexibility to scale their operations during busy harvest cycles while maintaining their own internal standards and supervision.
Today, Crop Chop continues to support cannabis cultivations across Michigan by helping facilitate access to experienced cannabis talent and fostering relationships throughout the state’s growing cannabis community.
